It was a frigid day in Oklahoma with the previous weekend at 65 degrees. That's a typical winter pattern here. It seemed like it was going to rain or sleet, however the rain held off and the wind died down long enough to have just a chill. Luckily, these two were great at keeping the other warm.
I have known Kenzie since our Junior High days. We attended the same little school and remained in contact thanks to mutual friends and social media. I think that's the one thing that I enjoy about little private schools. I have kept in contact with 98% of my classmates. It's an exciting time to watch everyone grow from teen years into adulthood, sharing in life's biggest moments.Â
When Ryan and Kenzie became engaged. I was thrilled. I've done the whole wedding planning + shooting weddings, it just makes my heart do little dances. Their wedding is set to occur this summer. I always like shooting engagements 6-9 months before a wedding. It allows plenty of time to capture and share images, plus adding images to invitations.Â
Kenzie and I spent a lot of time planning and wardrobe styling. Something I've started to do which has really helped is to design a Pinterest vision board to help with the session. I found that this really help tie everything together. She wanted a dramatic scene and with it being winter, that was a challenge I gladly accepted.
